Colin Jones

Founder & Chief Investment Officer

  • Colin is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Outerlands. After spending over a decade researching systematic investing, Colin launched Outerlands on the thesis that robust, well-researched systematic investing strategies can and should be applied to digital assets. Prior to the spinout, Colin was Head of Strategic Investments at Horizen Labs, a successful blockchain development company, where he evaluated a variety of private investments and special situations, advised on tokenomics, and invested the balance sheet across both crypto and traditional investment vehicles. Prior to Horizen Labs, Colin spent over a decade in academia researching and teaching investments, most recently as a professor at the University of Notre Dame and as the Faculty Director for the Notre Dame Institute for Global Investing. Prior to his academic career, Colin worked in startups, economic development, and venture capital. Colin holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Pennsylvania State University, and an M.B.A from the College of William & Mary.

Noam Ofek

Chief Technology Officer

  • Noam is the Chief Technology Officer at Outerlands where he leads the development of the Firm’s proprietary portfolio management solution, built to enable efficient access to hundreds of assets across a wide range of exchanges and native blockchains, and seamlessly move assets into storage at industry leading custodians. Additionally, Noam is the lead trader for the Firm and manages IT and cybersecurity for Outerlands. Noam has over 14 years of experience developing enterprise-grade software applications across a variety of industries. Most recently, he was the founder and CTO of FuriTech, an enterprise-focused software development company, and FuriTrading, an algorithmic cryptocurrency trading company. Prior to founding his companies, Noam was a VP of R&D at Shamaym, a publicly traded work-management technology platform, and an R&D manager at Rumble, a media platform acquired by BNY Mellon. Noam received a B.S. in Physics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.

Felix Stratmann

Head of Research

  • Felix is the Head of Research at Outerlands where he focuses on the the Firm’s systematic investment strategies and factor research. Additionally, Felix is the primary researcher and writer for Outerlands’ externally published research. Prior to joining Outerlands, Felix spent 8 years at Morgan Stanley, two of which were served in Debt Capital Markets within Investment Banking and the remaining six in the Fixed Income Research department, where he attained the title of Vice President. At Morgan Stanley, Felix focused on US corporate credit markets. He authored or contributed to numerous publications, including foundational work on the application of systematic investment strategies in corporate bonds and credit derivatives, the integration of ESG into corporate bond analysis, and the escalation of leverage at US corporations via M&A and share buybacks. Felix received a B.S. in Finance, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of South Carolina.

Anthony Lubrano

Head of Capital Formation

  • Anthony is the Head of Capital Formation at Outerlands where he focuses on capital formation and investor relations. Prior to joining Outerlands, Anthony was a Vice President in H.I.G. Capital’s Capital Formation Group where he worked across H.I.G.’s private equity, private credit, and real assets platforms to raise capital and facilitate a seamless investor experience. Prior to H.I.G. Capital, Anthony was a part of the Financial Institutions Group at Wells Fargo Securities where he focused on alternative asset managers. Anthony received a B.S. in Finance from the University of South Carolina.

Olivia Nguyen

Head of Growth

  • Olivia is the Head of Growth at Outerlands where she focuses on accelerating Firm growth, capital formation, and fundraising and partnerships. Prior to joining Outerlands, Olivia was an Institutional Coverage Lead at FalconX, supporting NAM, LATAM and EMEA systematic and discretionary trading clients in a sales trading capacity. She's also held Business Development and Strategy roles at Citi, HSBC, and Nasdaq in debt capital markets. Olivia received a B.B.A. in Business Administration and Journalism from Southern Methodist University.

Daniel McGlinn

Director of Operations

  • Daniel is the Director of Operations at Outerlands where he focuses on the Firm’s day-to-day operating processes, internal controls, managing service providers, and client administration and reporting operations. Prior to joining Outerlands, Daniel founded and served as COO of a digital asset investment vehicle, managing fund operations, business development, and investor relations. Prior to digital assets, he worked at TAIT as a design engineer and project developer in the concert touring industry. Daniel received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Bryan Campbell

Investment Associate

  • Bryan is an Associate on the Investment Team where he focuses on the Firm’s fundamental token research. At Horizen Labs, Bryan helped evaluate strategic investment opportunities and spearheaded tokenomic advisory efforts for client launch partners. Prior to joining Outerlands, Bryan spent a combined 4 years as a Senior Fixed Income Research Analyst at LM Capital and a High Yield Research Analyst at Barings Asset Management, performing extensive fundamental credit research across a variety of industries and debt instruments. Bryan received a B.S. in Finance and International Business, Magna Cum Laude, from the Honors College at University of South Carolina.

Mathew Otten

Investment Associate

  • Mathew is an Associate on the Investment Team where he focuses on the Firm’s systematic strategies and factor research. Prior to joining Outerlands, Mathew was a Private Equity Analyst at Ares Management within their Special Opportunities Private Equity fund. At Ares, Mathew spearheaded diligence on a variety of public and private debt and non-control equity investment opportunities across a broad spectrum of non-distressed special situation, stressed, and distressed investments, primarily in North America and Europe. Mathew received a B.B.A. in Finance, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

Daji Landis

Data & Econometrics Analyst

  • Daji is a Data and Econometrics Analyst on the Investment Team where she focuses on the Firm’s systematic strategies and factor research. Daji has conducted academic research in a number of quantitative fields, including applied math, game theory, and cryptography. Prior to joining Outerlands, Daji helped build machine learning models of space plasma phenomena at a NASA-funded research center, and focused on secure multi-party computations for machine learning applications at a cryptography startup. She received her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles and received her M.S. in Economics and Social Science from Bocconi University, where she earned a full merit scholarship.

Mike McCann

Investment Analyst

  • Mike is an Analyst on the Investment Team where he focuses on the Firm’s fundamental token research. At Horizen Labs, Mike helped evaluate strategic investment opportunities and performed tokenomic advisory for client launch partners. Prior to joining Outerlands, Mike was a Hub Analyst at Messari, where he performed diligence and wrote asset profiles on various crypto projects. He also worked as a Summer Analyst at Bain Capital Credit, where he researched public high yield debt investments in the healthcare and consumer sectors. Mike received a B.B.A. in Finance, Cum Laude, from the University of Notre Dame.

Pavlo Denysiuk

Software Engineer

  • Pavlo is a Full Stack Developer on the Technology Team where he leads development on content management systems, crypto trading systems, and cloud-based solutions. Pavlo has over 14 years of software development experience across various industries, utilizing his Azure, AWS, C#, Angular, and SQL expertise. Prior to joining Outerlands, Pavlo was a software engineer at Shamaym, a publicly traded work-management technology platform, and a software developer at Rumble, a media platform acquired by BNY Mellon. Pavlo received a B.S. from Lutsk National Technical University with a focus in Automation of Management Production Processes.

Oksana Kucher

Quality Assurance Engineer

  • Oksana is a Quality Assurance Engineer on the Technology Team where she is responsible for test planning, test design and framework development, defect tracking and management, and test execution and maintenance. Oksana has over 14 years of experience as quality assurance and automation engineer. Prior to joining Outerlands, Oksana was a quality assurance engineer at Everstake, a blockchain infrastructure company running over 8,000 nodes for 70+ blockchain protocols, and EventSoft, a European outsourced software development company. Oksana received a B.S. in Information Technology from Lesya Ukraine National University.
